Pasillo de Acceso

Un pasillo de acceso es la zona rayada adyacente a un espacio de estacionamiento accesible. El propósito de un pasillo de acceso es proporcionar espacio para que una persona con discapacidad se transfiera entre un automóvil en el espacio accesible y un dispositivo de movilidad, como una silla de ruedas o un scooter. Es importante mantener un pasillo de acceso despejado para que pueda usarse para el propósito previsto.

Para cumplir con la ley, un pasillo de acceso para un espacio de estacionamiento para automóviles debe tener al menos 5 pies de ancho. Sin embargo, para una camioneta, el pasillo de acceso debe tener al menos 8 pies de ancho, aunque si un espacio de estacionamiento accesible para camionetas tiene al menos 11 pies de ancho, el pasillo de acceso debe ser de sólo 5 pies de ancho. Los Estándares ADA 2010 para Diseño Accesible contienen los requisitos técnicos y de alcance para los pasillos de acceso.

Rights of Parents with Disabilities in the Child Welfare System

Child welfare agencies cannot exclude parents with disabilities from the services offered in child welfare agencies or court systems.
Assumptions, generalizations, or stereotypes about disability should not affect assessments, services, and decisions.
Reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures for parents with disabilities are required for all services and hearings.
Modifications include ensuring physical or programmatic accessibility, or providing auxiliary aids and services to ensure adequate communication and participation. Share on Facebook

Student Rights in Postsecondary Education

In order to get an academic adjustment in college, you must identify yourself as having a disability.
Examples of adjustments include providing note takers, recording devices, sign language interpreters, and extended time for testing.
The school is not required to lower or waive essential course requirements.
A school cannot charge you for providing an academic adjustment.

ADA Accessible Parking 101
